Simmons, Floyd Leo, 85, retired conductor for Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 3, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie R. and Minnie (Carey) Simmons; wife, Mary Ann Simmons and twin brother, Leon Simmons. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Visitation with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at Cochran Mortuary, 1411 N. Broadway and Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at Gospel Assembly Church, 4220 N. Oliver. Survivors: daughters, Doris J. Simmons, Johnna S. (Paul) Golden both of Wichita and Carmen R. Simmons of Las Vegas NV; son, Floyd L. Simmons, Jr. of California; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Memorial with the Gospel Assembly Benevolent Fund.
